This session features industry leaders from the OSAC Academia Sector Committee (ASC)
, who will discuss how the COVID-19 pandemic has forever changed the landscape of travel safety and security. Countries once deemed “minimal to no risk” now hold “do not travel” alerts. What is needed for non-essential travel, like education abroad, to resume and how might these requirements vary from country to country? The discussion will offer an overview of criteria and standards that academic institutions (and other organizations) can use for travel risk management during the pandemic and beyond. The panel offers viewpoints from a study abroad provider, as well as public and private institutions that sent students abroad this Fall and/or plan to send students abroad in the Spring 2021 semester.
